FEND OFF BUGS: TAKE KIDS TO IMMUNIZATION CLINIC AT MALL

To celebrate April as Immunization Month, the City-County Health Department is hosting a clinic for all children at the University Mall with co-sponsor Granite Furniture.

The clinic will be Thursday and Friday, April 27 and 28, from 1 to 6 p.m., and Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the J.C. Penney Court. The health department reminds parents that kindergarten registration is near and children will need their last series of immunizations to enter school. If possible, parents are asked to bring their child's immunization record with them.

A $3 service fee is charged for all state-required shots, but no child will be turned away due to inability to pay. The City-County Health Department also provides regular daily clinics for patrons' convenience.

The Vital Records Department at the Health Department has extended hours on Wednesdays until 6:30 p.m. Birth certificates (now in wallet size) are $12 per person.
