Federal prosecutors subpoenaed personal financial records of Mayor Marion Barry and his wife, Cora, in connection with an investigation of renovations to the couple's home, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.

And, the newspaper said, FBI agents searched a dry-cleaning business owned by Yong Yun, an entrepreneur who oversaw the renovations and who also holds a $17.6 million city lease for an office building he built. The District of Columbia government began paying rent on the building this year even though it is empty, the Post said.Quoting two law enforcement sources it did not identify, the newspaper said the actions were prompted by Barry's acknowledgment at a news conference last week that Yun had overseen renovations at his home last year but that Yun had been paid for the work.
