Luana Shepherd, 70, passed away May 1, 1995, at home of ovarian cancer.
Born March 17, 1925, in Murray, Utah, to William LeRoy and Myrtle Irene Berg Shepherd. Graduate of University of Utah. Retired Commander, U.S. Navy Nurse Corps. Active member of LDS Church, served as president of Relief Society, homemaking leader, secretary in Relief Society and Sunday School. Had her nurses' training at St. Mark's School of Nursing, nurse at St. Mark's Hospital, at the Fairbanks, Alaska Dispensary and the Veterans Hospital in Seattle, Washington.Survived by brothers and sisters, Beverly (Weston) Daw; K. Brent (Mary) Anderson; Kenneth B. (Lyn) Shepherd; Janice (Lee) Hilton; Joyce Downward; Shirl A. (Dona) Shepherd; Marilyn (William) Henline and Clinton R. (Joy) Anderson; 33 nieces and nephews and 93 great-nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by father; mother, Myrtle Shepherd; and stepfather, Gunnard E. Anderson; stepbrothers, Jay Duane and Donald E. Anderson.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 5, 1995, 12 noon at Butler Stake Center, 7035 Nutree Dr. (3360 East). Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St., and Friday 11-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
