I would be remiss if I did not write to commend a wonderful gift to the community: A concert of the American West Symphony and Chorus conducted by Joel Rosenberg at the Assembly Hall on Temple Square on May 27. What an inspired, exciting musical evening. The excerpts from "Carmen" and "Madame Butterfly" were performed and conducted with great polish and musicality. The standing ovation at the end of the concert attested to its quality.
