The Sinclair Dinosaur hot air balloon - the only one of its kind - will fly in conjunction with Provo's Freedom Festival this weekend.
The tyrannosaurus rex-style balloon has claws more than 7 feet long and is more than 100 feet tall - twice as large as the average hot air balloon.The balloon will lift off near 1200 North and Freedom Boulevard about 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday.
After the balloon's flight on Saturday, Sinclair will sponsor "Sinclair Family Day" from noon to 4 p.m. at BYU's Earth Science Museum. Children's hands-on activities at the museum will include fossil digging, dinosaur rubbings, fossil preparation and sidewalk chalk drawing. Other activities include face painting and storytelling at 12:30 and 2 p.m.
