Volunteers are needed for children staying at a 24-hour crisis nursery at the new Family Support and Treatment Center in Orem.
A four-month commitment is requested, as volunteers will need to serve a three-hour shift once a week. Also, a training session will be offered Tuesdays from 2-4 p.m.Activities to assist in the nursery will include reading, playing games with children and helping them with computers.
Groups of individuals are also needed to help at the center with one-time projects. Groups can help clean, vacuum, dust, wash windows and help with touch-up paint.
Other volunteer opportunities are available throughout Utah County. They include:
- Entertainment and activities for nursing home residents.
- Spending time with chronically ill and disabled children.
- Volunteer in the snack shop at Utah State Hospital.
- Sort canned food.
