A Logan man has been sentenced for his involvement in a $30,000 gold theft from his former employer.
First District Judge Gordon Low on Monday reduced David Jacob-sen's felony burglary charge to a class-A misdemeanor and sentenced him to 10 days in jail.He must also pay restitution and get alcohol and drug counseling.
Jacobsen had pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary last December. In exchange for his testimony against co-defendant David Zivkovic, another second-degree felony charge was dismissed.
On July 6, a jury convicted Zivkovic on felony charges of stealing the gold from Lundahl Astro on July 17, 1994. The gold, which has never been found, was suspended in a chemical solution. Zivkovic will be sentenced Aug. 14.
