PROPERTY IS PURCHASED, BUT SCHOOL STILL WAYS OFF

Land has been purchased for a new middle school and campus in Gunnison but the project is only a proposal and won't become a reality for several years.

The delay is because the South Sanpete School District doesn't have bonding capacity to finance the project. But the district purchased 36 acres from J. Kellor Christensen at a cost of $4,000 per acre. The property is located adjacent to the Gunnison Valley High School.
