One of two overdue horsemen from Farmington walked out of the foothills just before 10 a.m. Thursday, ending a search that started when they were reported overdue Wednesday night.

The men, described by the Davis County sheriff's office as a Farmington man and his teenage son, left on a horseback ride from their home on Glover Lane at 10 a.m. Wednesday and failed to return that night.The father walked out of the foothills alone just before 10 a.m. Thursday, 24 hours later, at Chase Lane in Centerville. His son and their horses were reported to be still in the foothills.

According to search team members, the two stayed overnight after they found themselves in rugged terrain and fading daylight, unable to descend from the hills.
