Can a hair color not your own stimulate you to buy a perfume? Gianni Versace seems to think so. His latest fragrance is named Blonde for his sister, Donatella, whom Versace has been assiduously pushing into the limelight the past two years.

Ms. Versace, with stick-straight blond hair, is now referred to by the company as a co-designer for the house rather than for Versus and Istante, Versace's secondary lines. She helped develop the fragrance and will be featured in the advertising campaign shot by Richard Avedon, adding the role of model to her many others. She is also the image director for advertising, oversees the company's relationships with celebrities and is Versace's muse.

Ms. Versace will appear at Saks Fifth Avenue in September to promote Blonde, and one assumes all are invited, regardless of hair color.
