Sen. Bob Packwood says he can't remember most of the 19 women who have accused him of unwanted sexual advances, but apologizes to them nonetheless.

"One of these charges is 21 years old, one of them is a quarter-of-a-century old," the Oregon Republican said Wednesday of the complaints pending before the Senate ethics committee. The panel reported in May that it found "substantial credible evidence" that Packwood made unwanted sexual advances toward 17 women in 18 instances between 1969 and 1990. Last week, the committee disclosed that it had received two additional complaints.

"Most of them are people I can't remember. I've apologized to the ones I can remember, and I've apologized for the incidents I can't recall, and I apologize again," Packwood said on CNN's "Larry King Live."
