Jesse A. Bailey, age 86, passed away on August 8, 1995 at home.

He was born March 24, 1909, in Nephi, Utah to Langley A. Bailey, Jr. and Madaline Elva Bigler Bailey. He married Norma Edna Gardner on October 28, 1936 in the Manti LDS Temple.He graduated from Nephi High School. He worked at Thermoid Rubber Company and as a custodian for the LDS Church and was a life-long farmer.

He was an active member of the LDS Church, having served in numerous positions, including bishop's counselor, High Councilman, stake missionary, and High Priest group leader. In later years, he served as an ordinance worker in the Manti and Provo LDS Temples.

He is survived by his wife, Norma; and by three daughters and two sons: Mary (Merlyn) Burraston, West Valley; Lucille (Michael) Corfield, Riverton; Carl (Claudia) Bailey, Orem; Dale (Debra) Bailey, Sandy; and Lois (Vernal) Bateman, Brigham City; also surviving are 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ivan and Harold, and one sister, Myrtle Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Naomi and brothers, Ernest and Donald.

Funeral services will be held at 11 p.m. Friday, August 11, 1995 in the Nephi Stake Center, 351 No. 100 West. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 No., Nephi, and at the church 9:45-10:45 a.m. Friday prior to the services. Interment, Nephi City Cemetery.
