Gial A. "Farney" Farnsworth, 86, died Wednesday, August 9, 1995 in his home in Sunnyside.

He was born July 22, 1909 in Garfield, to Alma W. and Mabel Deborah Johnson Farnsworth. He was graduated from the University of Utah in 1932 with a degree in civil and mining engineering. He was a member of the honorary engineers society Tau Beta Phi. While at the university he also served in the ROTC. He came to Carbon County as a mining engineer in 1935. He married Lora Madsen, June 16, 1937. Their marriage was solemnized June 16, 1992 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served 5 years 3 months in the Army during World War II in North Africa, India and China.He is survived by his wife, Sunnyside; a daughter, Susanne (Dennis) Park, West Valley; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, June M. Turner, Globe, Arizona; and a brother, Bill Farnsworth, Reno, Nevada. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 12, 1 p.m. in the Hunter South Stake Center, 5180 West 4700 South, West Valley City. Friends may call at Fausett Mortuary in Price from 12 noon until 5 p.m. Friday or at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Tooele City Cemetery. Family requests that no flowers be sent.
