Clarence Edgar Schronen passed away August 8, 1995 in a local hospital.

He was born in Salt Lake on November 6, 1911 to George and Dorothea Nieser Schronen. Married Vera Bain, February 14, 1933. She died April 12, 1974. Married Myrtle Sleater July 17, 1976.Clary was employed by the Salt Lake Tribune for 20 years. He began his career at the age of 15 at the Salt Lake Tribune and Telegram. He worked his way up to become a skilled photo engraver for over 45 years, working in Salt Lake and Calif. He was a member of the LDS Church.

Clary loved music and was an accomplished, self-taught master of the piano. During the 1930's and 40's he performed at many of the popular dance spots around Salt Lake. In his recent years, he entertained at local retirement communities.

Clary could fix anything, and was often called upon by family and friends when help was needed. He was a friendly, gentle man and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, sons, Donald (Carol) Schronen, Bellevue, Washington; David (Claudette) Schronen, Salt Lake; two daughters, Eileen (Jack) Heinze, Castro Valley, California; and Dorothy Krause (and Fred Busby), Salt Lake; one sister, Dorothy Bacon, Hayward, Calif; two step-daughters, Lynne (Don) Cook and Vickie (David Weston); a stepson, Sonny (Patricia) Sleater, Wash.; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by brother, Ervin and sister, Matilda.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 12, 1995 at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary Chapel, 3115 East 7800 So. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Interment: Mountain View Memorial Estates. Funeral Directors: Cottonwood Mortuary.
