- COUNTRY SINGER AARON TIPPIN will perform Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Weber County Fairgrounds in Ogden. Showtime is 7 p.m.Tippin, best known for the hit "You've Got to Stand for Something" and "There Ain't Nothin' Wrong with the Radio," is currently working on his fifth album due out in early fall.

- GUITAR WIZARD TINSLEY ELLIS will celebrate the release of his new album, "Storm Warning," with a performance at the Zephyr Club, Saturday, Aug. 12. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Ellis, famous for his southern blend of rock, blues, New Orleans funk and rhythm & blues, strips his sound to the bone and keeps his Atlanta roots intact. His new album features the tunes "To the Devil for a Dime" and the mournful "A Quitter Never Wins."

- THE ZEPHYR WILL ALSO FEATURE THE STRANGERS Wednesday, Aug. 16. Doors open at 7 p.m. The Strangers, hailing from America's Northwest, mixes rock, folk and blues to create its own sound of groove.

- THE RENEGADE SAINTS IS STILL ON THE ROAD. The band will stop at the Holy Cow on Wednesday, Aug. 16, during its ongoing tour to support its debut, "Fear of the Sky." Showtime will be approximately be 9 p.m. The Saints are currently preparing for a follow-up CD that will feature all brand new tunes.

- ANI DIFRANCO, the new folk-music diva who is rapidly making a name for herself and her work, will perform Thursday, Aug. 17, at the University of Utah Fine Arts Auditorium. Showtime is 8 p.m. Difranco's new album, "Not a Pretty Girl," is receiving critical acclaim.

- FORMER VINNIE VINCENT INVASION GUITARIST MARK SLAUGHTER will bring his band, named Slaughter, to the Sage Club for two nights - Friday and Saturday, Aug. 18 and Saturday. The hard-rock band noted for such tunes as "Up All Night," "Fly to the Angels" has toured with the likes of Ozzy Osbourne and Kiss.
