Reports of wind gusts to 92 mph were received from the top of the Kimball Tower at Brig-ham Young University Thursday afternoon when a brief microburst passed through northern Utah County.

National Weather Service meteorologist William J. Alder said Friday he had not received reports of any major damage from the storm, for which a severe thunderstorm warning was issued at 3:56 p.m.One official from Provo's electrical energy department said there were isolated power outages throughout the city, "but there wasn't anything earth-shattering."

Winds were clocked at 61 mph in northeast Provo about 4:30 p.m., while winds was estimated at 60 mph in Pleasant Grove. Hol-la-day reported 53 mph; Lewiston, Cache County, 51; Randolph, Rich County, 48; Wendover, 46; Centerville, 39; Kearns, 38; and the Salt Lake International Airport, 36.
