A house fire at 3216 S. 1530 East caused $25,000 in damage Tuesday morning, but there were no injuries.

A smoke detector woke an occupant of the home at approximately 10 a.m. The man said he saw flames coming from an unfilled waterbed in another bedroom before he escaped the smoke-filled home, said Salt Lake County Fire Chief Ron Morris. No one else was home at the time of the blaze.
