The dairy division of Borden Inc. is in the process of relocation and consolidating its headquarters from Columbus, Ohio, to 1104 E. Country Hills Drive.
The division consists of 24 milk, cultured-product and ice-cream plants operating in 12 states west of the Mississippi River.Company officials said this is a move to establish Borden/Meadow Gold Dairies Inc., a free-standing company under the Borden umbrella. Anthony R. Ward, former west-region manager for the division, has been appointed president and chief executive officer of the new company.
He said the realignment will allow Borden/Meadow Gold a better opportunity to focus on those local and regional markets that have been traditional strengths for the company.
Borden brand products are processed and distributed from plants in new Mexico, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. Meadow Gold and Viva-brand low-fat products are processed and distributed from plants in Utah, Hawaii, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado, Idaho and Montana.
