LOGAN MAN CHARGED WITH HIGH-TECH PEEPING

A 32-year-old Logan man has been charged with lewdness for allegedly using high-tech equipment to spy on women.

Bruce J. Thomson was issued a summons to appear in Logan Municipal Court on the Class B misdemeanor charge, said Logan Police Lt. Lem Earl. A court date has been set for Aug. 22.Thomson is suspected of using a device that sounded into earphones when it detected light.

Police speculate the device could be placed outside a window, the cord extended into bushes where one could hide and be alerted to lights coming on in a residence.

The device was discovered July 6 by apartment residents who found it near their window after chasing a man who was using it from the area, police said.

Authorities traced the device to Thomson.
