Arlene M. Keysor of the Solemisnt Ward, Santa Clarita California Stake, received the California-Utah Women's organization Heritage Award at a luncheon recently in Anaheim, Calif. The award, presented annually, is given to a woman representing California and Utah heritage, who possesses outstanding qualities of devotion and service in the home, church and community.
Sister Keysor was chosen from the organization's membership of about 4,000.In the Church, Sister Keysor has served as an organist, choir director, ward and stake music chairman, twice as a Relief Society president, Young Women president, Primary president's counselor, stake Relief Society board member, stake missionary and early-morning seminary teacher.
She was an active member of the PTA for 25 years and was PTA president for two years. She has been honored twice with a PTA Honorary Service Award. For 10 years she has been a member of the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Guild and Home Tour League. She belongs to the American Guild of Organists, the Sempre Musica Society and has performed on the organ in several local concerts.
Sister Keysor and her husband, Richard, have nine children and 16 grandchildren.
