SHARE S.L. SYMPHONY NAMES DEBBAUT AS ITS MUSIC DIRECTOR

The Salt Lake Symphony has announced the appointment of Robert Debbaut as its new music director. Debbaut succeeds David Dalton who resigned at the end of the 1993-94 season.

Debbaut will begin his sixth season as music director of the University of Utah's two orchestras this fall. He originally came to Utah in 1990 from the University of Michigan, where he served as principal conductor of the campus orchestra and musical theater company. In the summer of 1990, Debbaut was the first recipient of the Tanglewood Music Center's Maurice Abravanel Scholarship.He has guest conducted with Utah Opera's Young Artist, Ann Arbor Opera, Utah Mozart Festival Opera and the BYU Chamber Orchestra, to name a few.
