DEATH: JAMES FLYNN CHOATE

Our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, James Flynn Choate, age 90, died August 9, 1995, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born October 10, 1904 in Berlin, Oklahoma, to James Monroe and Nettie Flynn Choate. Married Virginia Risley in Farmington, Utah, October 31, 1935.He served in the US Army for 21 years and 10 years in the US AirForce Reserves, retiring as a First Lieutenant. He was a civil engineer and surveyor for many years. He loved hiking, sports, fishing, gardening, and stamp collecting.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; daughters, Terry Sumner, of Murray, Utah; Dorothy Reese (Bill), of Salt Lake City; Marsha Eldredge (Dan), of Salt Lake City; Nanette Jordan, of Davenport, Wash.; and son, Michael (Janice), of Bennion, Utah; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ola Brachi, of Oklahoma.

Heartfelt thanks to friend and neighbor, Cheryl, and to Gwen Mitchell and Marie Durney, of the VA Hospital for their care and concern during his illness.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 14, 1995, 11 a.m. at Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment: VAMC Camp Williams. Funeral directors, Deseret Mortuary.
