DIRECTIONS: From the Brian Head Ski Resort, located 15 minutes off I-15 through Parowan, head south on Highway 143 for about 3 1/2 miles to the Brian Head Peak road. Either ride bike to this point or drive. Ride begins here on old dirt road.
DESCRIPTION: Good high country riding on dirt roads and single track. Trail begins near the Brian Head Peak - elevation 11,307 feet. The trail gradually descends on dirt road through pines and large meadow and spectacular scenic overlook. Actually, there are several such overlooks along the way. Aside from a few climbs, trail is mostly downhill. Drops from nearly 11,000 feet to about 8,400 feet. Trail is 12 miles long and finishes on Highway 143.
POINTS OF INTEREST: Take time to ride to the top of Brian Head Peak and enjoy unobstructed view of entire area, including nearby Cedar Breaks National Monument. A lot of history in this area. Ends near Panguitch Lake. Take a lunch and enjoy the country.
ALSO: Because of the high elevation, a great place to ride in the summer with the cooler temperatures. Arrange return shuttle with Brian Head Resort or town bike shops.
