CAPTAINS ELECTED: Seniors Hema Heimuli, Stan Raass and Elias Faupula join junior Shay Muirbrook as co-captains elected by their BYU teammates.

Heimuli, a 6-2, 210-pound running back from Provo, and Faupula, a 6- 3, 285 offensive guard from Sacramento, Calif., are the offensive co-captains.

Stan Raass, a 6-0, 260-pound linebacker from Nampa, Idaho and Muirbrook, a 6-1, 235-pound linebacker from Norco, Calif., are the defensive co-captains.

PEUGNET HIRED: Teresa Dahl Peugnet has been appointed administrative assistant to the Women's Athletic Director at BYU. The announcement was made by Lu Wallace, Women's Athletic Director.

Peugnet was the administrative assistant to Clayne Jensen, Associate Advancement Vice President, prior to her latest assignment.

In her new position, she will assume major responsibilities for women's athletics including the budgets for the department, NCAA compliance records and administrative procedures on campus. Peugnet has been employed at BYU since 1985.

Weber State

CLINIC PLANNED: Weber State Volleyball Coach Al Givens and Assistant Coach Teri Spiers, along with the new 1995 volleyball team conduct a free volleyball clinic on Wednesday, August 16.

The Clinic will be held at the Marshall White Center from 7 to 9 p.m. for the Park and Recreation Department's junior high volleyball league.

Givens entire 1995 squad will also be there on hand to help out.

The returning players from last year include seniors Marvett Dickamore Smith (6-1 outside attacker) and Wendy Osborne (5-9 setter); juniors Lisa Holley (5-10 outside attacker), Annette Hill (6-0 outside attacker) and Nicole Scott (6-0 middle blocker); sophomores Teresa McArthur (5-11 outside attacker), Leah Karratti (5-9 outside attacker), Jamie Sant (5-5 setter) and Melanie Smith (6-1 middle blocker); and red-shirt freshman Raylin Green (6-0 middle blocker/outside attacker).

The newcomers to the squad include JoLynne Godfrey (5-8 outside attacker, Riverdale, Utah/Bonneville HS), Brooke Richardson (5-10 outside attacker, San Diego, Calif./Torrey Pines HS), Carrie Smith (5-9 setter, Escondido, Calif./San Pasqual HS), Melissa Leonard (6-0 middle blocker/outside attacker, Preston, Idaho/Preston HS), and Jaynee Paskins (6-0 outside attacker/middle blocker, Preston, Idaho/Preston HS).

The volleyball squad begins practices on Monday with sessions at the Dee Events Center at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The Wildcats open their season on September 1-2 at the Washington State Cougar Classic.
