EVANS & SUTHERLAND NETS $11.2 MILLION

Evans & Sutherland Computer Corp. reported net income of $11.2 million or $1.31 per share in the second quarter, compared with a net loss of $1.2 million or 14 cents per share in the same period a year ago.

Company officials said the second-quarter profits include a pretax gain of $20.1 million of the sale of the CDRS business to Parametric Technology Corp. and $4.4 million in other income and gains.For the first six months of 1995, the company had net income of $11.8 million or $1.38 per share, compared with a net loss of $1.2 million in the first half of 1994.

James R. Oyler, president, said the most important result of the first half of the year is that "we have turned a corner in our rebuilding efforts."
