STATE ADMINISTRATOR AND TRANSPLANT RECIPIENT ELECTED PRESIDENT OF NATIONAL KIDNEY FOUNDATION OF UTAH

Richard R. Nelson, administrator of the Industrial Assistance Fund for the Utah Division of Business and Economic Development, has been elected president of the National Kidney Foundation of Utah. Nelson had a successful kidney transplant in 1991.

Other officers are Jake Garn, vice president of Huntsman Chemical Corp., chairman; Rick Webber, vice president of Cornell-Bokelmann & Associates, immediate past president; Faye Ivory, administrative manager for the U.S. Ski Team, recording secretary; and Curtis Nygren, certified public accountant, treasurer.New directors are Joe Gray, president of Salt Lake Great Dane Co., and Mike Tucker, financial consultant for Smith Barney Co.

A Northwestern University and Brigham Young University graduate, Nelson has worked for Nelson Merger and Acquisition Consulting, the Reagan for President national staff, United California Bank, Pioneer Banking Group and the Service Bureau Co.
