DEATH: HELEN W. FORD

Helen Worthen Ford, 85, a longtime resident of Salt Lake City, died Sunday, August 13, 1995 in Greencastle, Indiana, of causes incident to lung cancer.

Born in Salt Lake City on April 3, 1910, she was a daughter of Joshua and Alfreda Ford Worthen. She married Ernest J. Ford, also a Salt Lake City resident, in 1930. Helen was a bookkeeper and office manager for several business in Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, Texas and Utah before her retirement at the age of 75. She was a member of several wards of the LDS Church, including Union Fort 3rd Ward in Midvale, Utah. She moved to Indiana in 1993 to live with her son, Ernest J. Ford, Jr.Survivors include her son, co-owner, with his wife, Linda, of Fine Print Book Store in Greencastle and former managing editor of KSL-TV News in Salt Lake City; Janice Ford, her daughter, also of Greencastle; and two grandchildren, Jim Ford, Greencastle; and Stacey Petersen, Murray, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1990 at the age of 81. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Worthen; and five sisters, Zenna Buttle, Vera Gardner, Alfreda Rich, Eva Nielson, and Dorothy Kelsey.

Funeral services Friday, August 18, at 2 p.m., Larkin Chapel, 260 East South Temple, with visitation Thursday evening 6-8 p.m., and Friday, one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Salt Lake City Cemetery.
