Provo Mayor George Stewart helps firefighters use the Jaws of Life to cut a fire hose signifying the official opening of Provo Fire Station 4. Located at 95 S. 2050 West, the new station was built to provide better emergency service to neighborhoods west of I-15. Previously, firefighters depended on three primary corridors for access to the west part of the city, which could have been cut off during a significant disaster. The new station is staffed with a full engine company and paramedic rescue unit.
