CLASSY STORES LOOK DOWN THEIR NOSES AT NEW SCENT

Upscale department stores are sending Elizabeth Taylor's newest scent downtown.

The retailers won't stock Black Pearls when it hits the market this fall because Elizabeth Arden, maker of the perfume, is cutting the amount it contributes to the salaries of counter salespeople in department stores, The Wall Street Journal reported. The fragrance will be found in some less elegant stores.

"I want my products more available to a much wider audience," Taylor said in a statement.
