EXERCISE BY 419TH FIGHTER WING WILL GREATLY BOOST HILL AIR TRAFFIC

Flying activity at Hill Air Force Base will increase Saturday and Sunday as the 419th Fighter Wing conducts an operational readiness exercise.

According to wing spokesman Maj. Ken Warren, the 419th usually flies 12 to 16 missions one day of its training weekends, typically on Saturdays. But the wing's F-16s are scheduled to make about 48 flights Saturday and again Sunday. They'll be between noon and 10 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Sunday.Joining the 419th in the exercise will be Marines flying F-18s and a civilian-contracted Lear jet.
