Don Murdock Jacob died July 31, 1995 in Bountiful, Utah at the age of 77.
His parents were I.H. Jacob and Chloe Murdock. He graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City in 1935. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1941 as an electrical engineer. He did graduate work at the University of South Alabama. During his life he worked for G.E., University of Michigan, Hughes, TRW, Litton and Raytheon. He was awarded 14 patents. In 1983 he retired and moved to Bountiful, Utah. He finished his book, "Jacob's Ladder", a gospel study using scientific principles. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Eastern States in 1937. Throughout his life he served in numerous church positions. On June 12, 1941 he married Melba Bonner.He is survived by his wife and four children, Richard D., D. Irvin, Kenneth Jacob, Janet Jacob Nielsen; 17 grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Austin; and brother, Robert M. Jacob. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Irvin Jacob.
Funeral services Thursday, August 3rd, 12 noon, in the Bountiful East Stake Center, 600 East 2200 South, Bountiful. A viewing will be held at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, in Salt Lake City, Wednesday evening, 6-8 p.m., and at Stake Center, Thursday 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
