After the furor over the Brent Spar oil platform, when Shell was forced to do a flip-flop by the boycott of its gas stations in Germany, we now have an escalating consumer revolt against French goods as a result of Paris' decision to resume nuclear testing in the Pacific next month.Even in America, the French experience was not entirely absent from President Clinton's mind as he announced U.S. willingness to sign a total ban on all tests, despite the Pentagon's pressure to restart them on a smaller scale.
