Wave Young, 72, of North Bend, Ore., stands on a wing of his Beechcraft Bonanza after making an emergency landing on Lava Lake near Bend, Ore. on Friday. In his hand is a luggage case containing a change of clothes. Young, who was flying near Mount Bachelor when an engine quit, was picked up just as his plane sank by a family that was fishing near his landing spot. It took rescuers about six hours Saturday to tow the airplane to shore. The plane still had 70 gallons of fuel on board.
