Betty Crocker has baked up a fat-free dessert for you to try. With 8 bars to the box, "SweetRewards" snack bars retail for $2.19 for the 10.4-ounce box.
Don Russell (married, five children at home, ages 6-16): "This product is duly named - sweet. Our strawberry snack bar was about as sweet as sweet gets. I don't know that there's a lot of difference between this fat-free product and a typical fruit `Newton' cookie. General Mills says strawberry preserves is the primary ingredient in Sweet Rewards. Somehow I think they're telling the truth!"Edyth Jensen (married, three children at home): "We tried the strawberry bars. They are very sweet but tasty. If you enjoy eating fruit bars or cookies you will probably enjoy these. They do make a good snack (they are also fat-free), especially with a tall glass of (skim or 1 percent) cold milk."
Nihla Lake (married, two children at home): "We tried the strawberry jam bars and found that they were very moist. It was nice not worrying about fat consumption! Our only complaint was that our `reward' was just a trifle too sweet!"
Rich Firmage (married, four children, oldest 10 years old): "We were given the blueberry SweetRewards. My oldest son just snarfed them all down. He thought they were the greatest. Blueberry isn't my favorite, so I'll try the other flavor, but my son sure liked them."
Bill Allred (single): "Nothing particularly remarkable about these snack bars. They're not bad, just not remarkable. Only one real complaint . . . they're kind of small. It took the whole boxfull (less than a dozen) to make me an adequate snack. I gotta go. My stomach is really aching!"
Conclusion: For a fat-free snack, they deliver the goods - SweetRewards are definitely SWEET! We do suggest that you don't eat the whole box . . .
