Balance is the buzz word in the 2A ranks this fall. No longer does power weigh heavily in the direction of Region 13, the boys from Region 12 have apparently closed the gap. Defending state champion Kanab still rules the roost in the south, but upstart Juab is a legitimate title contender from the north.

JUAB: A ton of returnees have the Wasps (7-3) ready for action. Running back Ben Sutorius leads the senior class.
MANTI: Returning all-staters Clay Denton (linebacker) and Kevin Callister (receiver) top the Templars (9-2)
GRANTSVILLE: Tight end Darin Francom (6-5, 210) headlines the cast for the Cowboys (5-5).
MORGAN: All-stater Drew Bott is back as the Trojans look to improve on last year's 3-5 mark.
MILLARD: Former Milford coach Franklin Bramall replaces Al Marshall with the Eagles (4-5). Quarterback Aaron Boone is the top returnee.
GUNNISON: State high jump champion Shane Knudsen hopes to lead the Bulldogs (2-6) to the next level.
NORTH SUMMIT: Sam Blonquist will wear two hats this fall - school principal and head football coach. Can they improve on last year's 3-6 mark?
SOUTH SUMMIT: Quarterback Ben Harris and lineman Sam Aplanalp lead an young group of Wildcats (6-4) for coach Thom Crittenden.

KANAB: All-state running back Vaughn Jackson and quarterback Casey Glover leads the defending champions (11-1) back into battle.
SAN JUAN: Traditional power returns just two starters. However, junior quarterback Tate Bennett is a dandy for the Broncos (10-2).
BEAVER: A solid returning cast, which includes offensive standouts Jaden Edward, Josh Hollingshead and Brandon Raddon, has the Beavers (8-3) optimistic.
GRAND: Running back Travis Packard and receiver Justin Noyes are returning all-staters for the dangerous Devils (5-5).
NORTH SEVIER: Coach Craig Gladwell says his young team has "excellent potential." Fullback Mike Pierce is the top senior for the Wolves (4-4).
SOUTH SEVIER: Wide receiver Colby Gull headlines the senior class for the Rams (3-6).
MONTICELLO: Youthful Buckaroos (2-7) look to running back Shane Butler for leadership. Many new faces in Monticello.
PAROWAN: Streak City. Running back Kenny Lindsay and company seek to break the nation's longest current losing skid (as reported by ESPN) - 29 games.
