DEATH: BOYD D. FRIEL

Boyd D. Friel, age 61, passed away on August 24, 1995 at a local hospital, West Valley City.

Born December 7, 1933 in Provo, Utah, son of David Taylor Friel and Mary Madsen. Grew up in Springville, Utah. Attended Springville High. Served a Danish mission for the LDS Church. Graduated from University of Utah with a marketing degree. Married Mildred Bohn; later divorced. Married Nancy Johnson in the Salt Lake Temple, November 17, 1967. Employed at Hercules 32 years, recently retired. Board member of the Hercules Credit Union. Member of the Jordan North 2nd Ward. He served in many church callings, bishopric, high councilor, High Priest group leader, gospel doctrine instructor, worked in family history library. Avid 49ers fan.Preceded in death by his parents. Survived by his wife, Nancy; his seven children and two stepchildren, David Friel (Lori), West Valley; Rebecca Beck (Tim), Riverton; Cindy Ovard (Kevin), San Jacinto, California; Richard Friel (Lynae), Logan; Pamela Porter (Todd), West Jordan; Teresa Friel, serving LDS Mission in Pittsburgh, Penn.; Robert Friel, serving LDS Mission in Helsinki, Finland; Angela Holden (Kyle), West Valley City; Colby Brewer, West Valley City; 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Carol Harmer (Jay), Pleasant Grove; Susan Gourley (Kent), Jerome, Idaho; Mary Jane Reese (Tom), Springville.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 26, 1995, 12 noon, at the Jordan North 2nd Ward, 4270 South 4145 West, West Valley City. Friends may call at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road on Friday, August 25th, 6-8 p.m. and at the church Saturday, August 26th, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment at the Valley View Memorial Park.
