Auditions have been scheduled for several upcoming stage productions.

- Salt Lake Acting Company will hold auditions Sept. 2 and 5 for three of its mainstage 1995-96 productions:- On Saturday, Sept. 2, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. for one remaining role in Edward Albee's "Three Tall Women." This casting requires a woman in her mid-20s who is, in fact, fairly tall. Auditioners will be asked to read from the script.

- On Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 5 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, Sept. 6, from noon to 5 p.m. for roles in Tony Kushner's "Angels in America" (parts one and two). Only the role of Roy Cohn has been precast. All other roles are open.

Bring a prepared piece of of three minutes or less, either from "Angels in America" or another play of your own choice.

Auditioners for all three SLAC plays are asked to bring a current photograph and resume.

The auditions will be conducted at the theater, 168 W. 500 North.

- The Lab Theatre's production of Caryl Churchill's "Vinegar Tom," from 7 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 5 and 6, in the Lab Theatre, located in the University of Utah's Performing Arts Building (directly behind the campus book store).

Richard Scharine is directing. The show requires seven women and two men.

The drama tells the story of witchcraft accusations in 17th century England from the viewpoints of those accused: women on the edge of society - the old, poor, sexually unconventional, healers, midwives or in any way undefinable in relation to a man.

The script is interspersed with modern songs to make a connection between the 17th century and the present. All auditioners will be may be asked to sing and dance. Scripts are available from the U. of U. department of performing arts. Those who wish to arrange a specific audition time should call the director at 581-5603 or 485-2497.

"Vinegar Tom" will be performed Oct. 19-22 in the Lab Theatre and the U. of U. theater department has also been invited to perform it at the 11th annual Festival of Drama in English in Gdansk, Poland, next spring - if the funding can be raised.

- "Blithe Spirit," on Tuesday, Aug. 29, and Wednesday, Aug. 30, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Heritage Theatre, 2505 S. Highway 89, Perry (south of Brigham City).

Krista Cae Mortensen is directing the Noel Coward comedy, which requires five women and two men. Come prepared to read from the script. Those unable to attend the scheduled auditions should call Mortensen at 723-8708 to make other arrangements.

Callbacks are scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 31.

The comedy will play Oct. 13-Nov. 4.
