DRIVER GUILTY OF NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE IN ACCIDENT

A jury convicted former U. student Brian D. Buehner of negligent homicide Tuesday for a 1994 accident that killed a Park City man.

Buehner, 21, was convicted of the offense, a class A misdemeanor, following a two-day trial in Murray 3rd Circuit Court. He faces a maximum one year of jail time and $2,500 fine when he's sentenced Sept. 11.Jeffrey Paul Koehnke, 24, died June 6, 1994, after his vehicle was struck head-on by a speeding truck driven by Buehner. Investigators estimate Buehner was traveling 70 to 80 mph down Big Cottonwood Canyon that night.
