EXECUTION RULED OUT FOR MURDER SUSPECT

Prosecutors have decided not to seek the death penalty against a former Logan woman accused in the shooting death of her employer.

Debra Brown, 37, was charged with aggravated murder, a capital offense, following the November 1993 death of 75-year-old Lael Brown, no relation.A two-week trial begins Oct. 9 in 1st District Court in Logan.

Debra Brown notified authorities the morning of Nov. 7, 1993, that she found the elder Brown dead at his Logan home.

Testimony at the preliminary hearing indicated that Debra Brown had been forging checks to her employer's account.
