SHARE CATHOLIC PRIESTS GAIN NEW POSTS STATEWIDE

The Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City has announced the assignment or reassignment of the following priests to these posts:

- Father Jan Bednarz as pastor of Christ the King Parish in Cedar City.- Father Victor Bonnel as pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Layton.

- Father Gerald Lynch, pastor of St. Marguerite's Parish in Tooele.

- Father James Semple, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Salt Lake City.

- Father Matthew Wixted, pastor of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Parish in Midvale.

- Father Reyes Rodriguez, Catholic chaplain of the Utah State Prison.

- Father Patrick Carley, parochial administrator at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Salt Lake City.

- Father James Blain, attending the Vatican II Institute in Menlo Park, Calif., during the fall semester.

- Father Erik Richtsteig, parochial vicar at Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish in Price.

- Father Julio Sanchez, parochial vicar of St. Joseph's in Ogden.

- Father Clarence Sandoval, pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Logan.

- Father Francisco Pires, parochial vicar of St. Henry's Parish in Brigham City.

- Father Thomas Culleton, pastor of St. Helen's Parish in Roosevelt.

- Father Eugenio Yarce, pastor of St. Bridget's in Milford.

- Father Hernando Diaz, pastoral administrator of Mission San Felipe in Wendover and parochial vicar at St. Marguerite's in Tooele.

- Father William Wheaton, pastoral administrator of St. Peter's Mission in American Fork; continues as director of the Diocesan Office of Religious Education.

- Father Charles Cummins, continues as chaplain for the Newman Center at Weber State University and will add weekend coverage at St. Joseph's Parish in Ogden.

- Father Langes Jaime Silva, parochial vicar of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Salt Lake City; chaplain of the University Hospital and continues work at the Diocesan Marriage Tribunal.

- Father Javier Virgen, pastor of St. Elizabeth's Parish in Richfield and as Catholic chaplain at the Gunnison prison.

- Father Francisco Gomez, parochial vicar for Hispanic Ministry at St. Therese of the Child Jesus in Midvale and St. francis Xavier Parish in Kearns; also as Catholic chaplain at the Salt Lake City Jail.

- Father George Kuzy, appointed dean of the Southwest Deanery for a second term.

- Father Colin Bircumshaw, pastor of St. Joseph's Parish in Ogden.

- Monsignor Robert Bussen, pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Park City and St. Lawrence Mission in Heber.

- Father Dennis Kelsch, pastor at Notre Dame de Lourdes in Price and Mission San Rafael in Huntington.

- Father Thomas McNamara, pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Copperton.

- Father Kenneth Vialpando, pastor of St. Pius X Parish in Moab.

- Father Richard Bauer, assigned to serve as therapist at Catholic Community Services of Utah.

- Father Yoan Kim, temporary parochial administrator and chaplain of all Korean Catholics in the Diocese of Salt Lake City.

The appointments became effective Aug. 1.
