Michael Jackson is taking a break from rewriting offensive lyrics to produce a new musical for the Pasadena Playhouse.
Jackson and MJJ Records partner Jerry Greenberg have signed on as co-producers of "Sisterella," songwriter Larry Hart's adaptation of the classic fairy tale "Cinderella."Hart is a former Grammy-winning gospel singer. He also has written songs for Engelbert Humperdinck.
"Sisterella," slated to debut in March, is one of three productions that will make up the Pasadena Playhouse's 1996 season.
As executive producer, Jackson will be footing the start-up money for "Sisterella," which already is being billed as one of the largest productions ever to be presented on the Playhouse stage.
