Grant A. Call, age 72, died August 26 at his home after a lingering illness.

He was born April 27, 1923 in Ogden, a son of Frank E. and Johanna Jorgensen Call. He married Shirley Millie Jenson in the Salt Lake Temple on April 25, 1947. A talented musician, he played violin, piano, bass violin, accordion and tuba. For 30 years he owned and operated Interior Specialties. He served during World War II in the Philippines and Korea as a telegraph operator with the 749th Railway Operating Battalion. A lifelong member of the LDS Church, he served in all auxiliaries and the Stake High Council. In 1994 he served with his wife in the Wisconsin Milwaukee Mission.He is survived by his wife and children, Norris G. (Karen) Call, Danae (Robert) Saunders, Peggy (John) Murdock, Valerie (Randy L.) Lythgoe, J.R. (Lisa) Call, Roxy (Dwayne) Barney, and Lance M. (Roxanne) Call. Also brothers and sisters, Frank, Rey, Dale, Cyril, Lynn Call, and Adona Nye.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 29, 11 a.m. at the Ogden 71st Ward Chapel, 300 Gramercy Avenue. Family and friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Lindquist Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Tuesday 10-10:45 at the church.
