DEATH: LENORA R. GRIFFIN

Lenora Roundy Griffin, 97, of Escalante, Utah, died August 26, 1995 in Panguitch, Utah of natural causes.

She was born September 20, 1897 in Escalante to Napoleon Bonapart and Elizabeth Williams Roundy.She married Ray Griffin, April 11, 1916. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, October 11, 1916. He died June 1, 1985.

She lived her entire life in Escalante. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in various callings. She was a dedicated member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was a friend and inspiration to all who knew her. She was an avid fan of the Utah Jazz and BYU basketball teams.

She is survived by two sons, two daughters and their spouses, Claron R. and Ruby Griffin, W.R. "Bill" and Dawn Griffin, Melba and Arlis Brooks, Eva Dean Liston, all Escalante; 17 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sons, Alof, Lynn and Eugene "Pole".

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 1995 at 1 p.m. in the Escalante 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the ward chapel in Escalante on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Escalante Cemetery. Funeral directors, Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield, Utah.
