DEATH: ERMA J. SWENSON

Erma J. Swenson, 94, of Orem, passed away Sunday, August 27, 1995 in the American Fork Hospital.

She was born January 1, 1901 in Lindon, Utah to Thomas Jarman and Mary Ann Gillman Jarman. She married J. Eldon Swenson, June 16, 1926 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died February 10, 1987. She was an active member of the LDS Church, living in the Orem Northridge Third Ward. She enjoyed music and taught piano lessons. She also played the piano for silent movies and participated in singing mother groups in Orem and Pleasant Grove. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She taught grammar school in Lehi in her early years. She also enjoyed knitting and traveling with her husband.She is survived by three sons and two daughters; Dawn Etta (Lavar) Sagers, Rush Valley, Utah; J. LaVell (Mary Jo) Swenson, Orem; Garn J. (Analee) Swenson, Orem; Morris J. (Connie) Swenson, Blanding; Elma Rae (Grant) Stubbs, Midvale; 27 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Merlin J. Swenson.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 31, 1995 at 11 a.m. in the Orem Northridge Third Ward Chapel, 1674 No. 200 West. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 So. 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
