SHARE EXPERIMENTAL DOCUMENTARY FILM TO BE `UNCAGED’ FRIDAY AT SLAC

"Uncaged," an experimental documentary short exploring the creative process, will be screened at the Salt Lake Arts Center on Friday, Aug. 4.

Directed by Donnell Corelle, the film was shot on location in rural Virginia in collaboration with three artists, choreographer Stephen Brown, composer Ricklen Nobis and sculptor Robert Fielding Cage. Passages from Terry Tempest Williams' "Refuge: An Unnatural History of Family and Place" are used as transitions.Corelle, a native Virginian now living in Utah, graduated in film at the University of Utah and has written two screenplays, in addition to writing and directing four short film and video projects. Her film "An Interview with Anne Frank" had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 1990.

All of the artists will attend the Friday premiere and will participate in a discussion with the audience after the screening.

"Uncaged" will be shown at 9:30 p.m. Friday in the Salt Lake Art Center, 20 S. West Temple.
