Leslie Merle Ness, born at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, November 23, 1925 to Magness and Myrtle Ness; passed away August 2, 1995 at his home.
He married his childhood sweetheart October 9, 1945 at Watertown, South Dokota. He served in the military August 25, 1944 to February 28, 1947. He received a soldier's medal for saving the life of a comrade in the Danube River. He joined the Eagles in 1957 in Tacoma, Washington. He served the Tooele Eagles #164 as their secretary for 16 years. He has been holding the office of secretary for the Utah State Eagles for eight years. He was retired from the Tooele Army Depot after 37 years.He will be missed by his wife, Vivian; children, Vickie Rolfe (Dick), Linda Murphy (Harvey), Pam Loth (David), Robert Ness (Lynn), all of Tooele; Harvey Ness (Linda), West Virginia; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Maxine Lindsey, Salt Lake City; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Irene and son-in-law, Richard.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 5, 1995 at 1 p.m. in the North Tooele Stake Center, 583 No. 270 East. Friends may call at Tate Mortuary, 110 So. Main Street, on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior at the church on Saturday. Interment, Tooele City Cemetery.
