DEATH: RAYMOND T. SENIOR

Raymond T. Senior, age 91, died peacefully Aug. 1, 1995 at his home in Salt Lake City.

He was born September 11, 1903 in Salt Lake City to Edwin W. and Ena Marcil Senior. Married LaRue Madsen, June 8, 1929 in Salt Lake City.He was a Salt Lake attorney and recognized authority on mineral law and public land law. Admitted in 1927 to practice before the courts of the State of Utah. Admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. Retired member of the law firm Nielsen and Senior. Formerly practiced law with his father, Edwin W. and his brother, Clair M., as the firm of Senior & Senior. Attended Salt Lake public schools and attended Stanford University and there received a Bachelor of Arts Degree and in 1927, his Juris Doctor Law Degree. In 1981 received from the Utah Bar Association recognition for his continuous outstanding service in the areas of energy and natural resources. Ray was a member of the Salt Lake Rotary Club, Alta Club and Fort Douglas Hidden Valley Club.

He is survived by a son, Richard R. Senior of Novato, Calif; daughters, Mrs. Julianne Rodman, Menlo Park, Calif.; sister, Mrs. Warren (Ruth) Lewis, Los Angeles; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaRue M. Senior, Salt Lake City; daughter, Karen Bigler, Los Altos; brother, Clair M. Senior, Salt Lake City.

Graveside services will be held Friday, August 4, 1995 at 12 noon at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 So. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to your favorite charity. Funeral directors: Evans & Early Mortuary.
