Manpower Inc. says fall job seekers will find a flourishing market in the Orem area during October, November and December.
The national employment firm, which conducts quarterly surveys of employment outlook, says 26 percent of Orem-area firms that it surveyed plan on increasing payrolls during the fall quarter. Only 10 percent intend to reduce payrolls and 54 percent think their payrolls will remain the same.Nationally, 25 percent of companies plan personnel increases. About 25 percent of Utah companies foresee a payroll increase.
Most Orem companies planning on a payroll increase are in retail trade, education, services and public administration. Most durable goods manufacturers have mixed intentions about staffing plans.
Last fall 47 percent of business planned on staffing increases. Last quarter 29 percent predicted an increase in hiring.
