Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Utah, the state's largest health insurer, has created its own health maintenance organization (HMO).
HMOBlue will be available to Wasatch Front residents beginning Sept. 1. It offers a toll-free, 24-hour helpline and a mix of hospitals from Brigham City to Nephi."HMOBlue is different precisely because it gives patients a wide choice of hospital networks," said Teresa Ellis, assistant vice president of marketing.
Blue Cross has another HMO called HealthWise, but Ellis said there is room in this market for HMOBlue.
