NEW DIRECTOR APPOINTED TO HEALTH-POLICY PANEL

Gov. Mike Leavitt has appointed Kerry Steadman as the new director of the Utah Health Policy Commission. Steadman will continue serving as director of strategic development and will work closely with the governor devising long-term strategies for programs in health, human services and community development.

The commission is charged with studying Utah HealthPrint, the state's master plan for market-oriented health-care reform, and for developing recommendations for each legislative session.Steadman will begin serving immediately and replaces Ric Campbell, who has been appointed as the new director of the Division of Public Utilities.
